Astronomy in the Park

Steve and Irene Little are presenting an astronomy program at Rocky Mountain National Park at the Upper Beaver Meadows site on July 11, 25, and August 8, 22 this summer (small turnoff about 1/2 mile beyond the Bear Lake turnoff on Trail Ridge Rd). One additional time will be on Sept. 5 held a Moraine Park Museum on the Bear Lake Rd. (we can't use the Upper Beaver Meadows site in Sept. because of the elk bugleing in Sept). We have 2 Meade LX-200 8" automated telescopes and the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society will also have some of their telescopes there as well.

The start time is 8:30 PM which will give people a chance to get oriented before complete darkness. These events are open to the public and quite a few people do come and bring their families, but we welcome any CASA/APAS people who want to come up and enjoy the park on a Friday night. Dress warmly, bring bug repellant!!!!
