The Cutting Garden
This year, the cutting garden consisted almost exclusively of
dahlias. The summer was so cool by Colorado standards that the
dahlias didn't start blooming until late August. I thought we
wouldn't get much of a season for them, but then it didn't freeze until
late October, so we had almost two months of flowers.
The pink bloom is Jersey's Beauty. The red is, I believe, Mrs. Geo
Boutillier, though like many blooms it seems to come out with more
orange in our soil. The final picture shows an assortment of
dahlias from the garden.
