Past work I've done at Rice University, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, and Denver UniversitySince many of the below are past projects, I'm not hosting their large data sets, so there may be dead links on this page. There is also a page of my publications. University of Denver under Toshiya UetaToshiya Ueta studies post-AGB stars, also known as pre-planetary nebulae. I worked for him on the SAGE survey and on a 3D map of a preplanetary nebula, IRAS 16594-4656. Both will generate publications; the latter is in press.Toshiya Ueta's DUSTE group January-August 2007 PHP post-AGB database (inactive because data stored elsewhere) NRAO REU under David MeierDavid Meier works on galactic chemistry. My project for him, however, was searching for super star clusters with VLA continuum observationsNGC 3627 Project Page NGC 3627 SSCs - Presentation 8/4/06 Undergraduate Senior Thesis under Pat HartiganPat Hartigan works on star formation and shocks, particularly from Herbig-Haro objects. I worked on a shock modeling code and observations of HH 34 and HH 111RICE THESIS PAGE Undergraduate Class WorkAstronomy Lab230 - The Eskimo Nebula My Astronomy Lab 230 final project involved observations of the Eskimo Nebula and processing that data. This was my first observing project, and reflecting back on it, I didn't do too badly, though my interpretation of Planetary Nebulae was way off and I originally had the wrong wavelength for H-alpha (Warning: does not contain links back to main site) Eta Carinae Writeup The semester project for Astronomy 350 was a research project. I chose to look at Eta Carinae, a supermassive star in our galaxy with interesting structure and activity over the past 2 centuries. My command of astronomical language was pretty weak at the time. Eta Carinae Powerpoint I got an A on this presentation. It was a truly wonderful feeling. Wolf-Rayet Galaxies Powerpoint The powerpoint presentation I gave for AU 400 during Spring 2005 Wolf-Rayet Galaxies Final project for Astronomy 360 Inflation and Scalar Fields - Presentation 5/4/06 |
