In graduate school I was the TA for two upper-level classes in my department. In the spring of 2004 and 2005 I was the TA for ASTR 3510, which is an observing class for astronomy and astrophysics majors here at CU. In the fall of 2004 and 2006, I was the TA for ASTR 3520, which is the second semester of the sequence and covers spectroscopic observations (the first semester covers imaging).

My students used the 24-inch telescope at Sommers Bausch Observatory here on the CU campus for all of their observing. Additionally, students in ASTR 3520 traditionally take a field trip to Apache Point Observatory near Alamagordo, NM, to observe with a 3.5-meter telescope. This field trip also includes a visit to the Very Large Array near Socorro, NM.
