Datasets Available for alp_boo

Clicking on Dataset entry will return an ASCII table of wavelengths, fluxes, photometric errors, and data quality; with a FITS-like header describing the observation (and processing history if a coadded [E prefix] or merged [UVsum] spectrum). Clicking on p in the second column will return a preview. An IUEcal, if available, is linked in the 3rd column of the upper row.

Notes. In MODE, aperture code is, e.g., 02X009= 0.2X0.09 . Range is in Angstroms. Texp is the exposure time in kiloseconds, and is a simple sum of the individual exposure times for UVsum merged spectra. For coadded or merged spectra, ObsDat is the median of observation dates of the individual exposures. Grade is A (excellent) to E (very poor) (see individual previews). Final column is HST program code (linked).

Individual Previews: The spectrum is displayed in the upper panel in black, the photometric error is shown in green, and xs mark wavelength bins flagged as bad. The lower panels depict relative (left) and cumulative (right) distributions of signal-to-noise for all wavelength bins with STN equal or larger than 3. For the FUV interval, the STN distribution was determined in a series of narrow wavelength bands containing bright features in normal chromospheric emission line stars (and thus can be biased for anomalous objects, such as T Tauris).

IUE Calibration: In the upper panel, representative NEWSIPS low- and high-dispersion spectra (R= 300 and 10,000, respectively) are illustrated as thick lines and dots respectively: different colors represent independent observations. Coadded low-res spectra are indicated by thin black lines. Photometric noise levels for the coadded high-res spectrum are marked by orange dots in the upper panel. The coadded high-res spectrum is illustrated in the lower panel as red dots (photomeric errors in green), and the low-res coadded spectra are repeated as thicker blue curves. The flux-adjusted STIS tracing for the star, smoothed to IUE resolution (low) is the thin black curve in the lower panel.
